Connecting to Stripe for Payouts


To get paid, you’ll need to set up your payout details through our secure Stripe integration. This is a one-time setup that takes just 5 minutes and ensures your listings can be purchased. If you skip this step, buyers will see a message during checkout that your listing isn’t available.


You can connect to Stripe in two ways:


  • During your first listing: You’ll be automatically prompted to complete your payout setup.
  • From your profile: Click the circle at the top right of the page (with your initials or photo), then go to Account Settings → Payout Details → click Get Verified.


From there, Stripe will guide you through:


  1. Entering your email address
  2. Verifying your identity via a code
  3. Confirming your personal details
  4. Selecting your bank account for payouts


You’ll have the option to connect your bank using Link or to enter your bank info manually. Once complete, you’re all set—future listings won’t require this step again.

Pro Tip - You can come back to the Account Settings section at any time to edit your contact details, password, payout details and payment methods!

Listing on Mindu is free and only takes a few seconds! Click on Sell or Post a new listing.

For the best results, we recommend uploading 2-3 clear square photos (1:1 ratio) of your item from different angles, ideally against a solid background. Square images display better on the platform and help buyers see your item more clearly. Horizontal or vertical photos may get cropped or look inconsistent in the feed, so sticking to square ensures your listing looks great! Once you are ready, upload them to your listing.

  • How do I take square photos on my phone?
    • iPhone: Open the Camera app → swipe to “Photo” mode → tap the arrow (^) at the top → tap the “4:3” option → select “Square” (1:1).
    • Android (may vary by model): Open the Camera app → tap the gear/settings icon → look for “Picture Size” or “Aspect Ratio” → choose 1:1 or Square.

Let our AI help autofill your listing details – just verify for accuracy! Next, add the item’s brand, size, condition, and set your price.

Select your delivery method(s). You can offer one or multiple options. Buyers cover delivery fees.

Meetup:

  • Add a general location (i.e. “Cobble Hill”) or a specific address.
    • Prior to purchasing, buyers will only see a circle indicating the general area near your address. The full location or specific address will become visible only after the purchase is completed.
    • Use Mindu messaging to coordinate details.


Shipping by Mail:

  • Mindu does not provide shipping labels, so sellers are responsible for calculating and arranging their own shipping. Estimating costs ahead of time helps you price your item more accurately and avoid surprises at checkout.
    • Measure the dimensions (length × width × height) and weight of your item, as shipping rates depend on size and weight.
    • Note: The following tools are for informational purposes only. Mindu is not affiliated with these services and cannot guarantee their accuracy or availability.
  • Online tools to help estimating costs before listing. We recommend checking the websites directly for most accurate and up-to-date pricing. 

Local courier

  • If you’d prefer to have the item picked up from your location and delivered directly to the buyer, you can choose a local courier service. These can be a great option for larger items where traditional shipping might be costly.
  • Since Mindu does not handle shipping or delivery, sellers are responsible for booking, coordinating, and ensuring successful handoff of the item.
  • Note: The following services are for informational purposes only. Mindu is not affiliated with these companies and cannot guarantee pricing, availability, or service quality.
  • You’re welcome to use any service available in your area. Sellers often use:

Small/light items: $10–$20

Medium items: $20–$40
Large or bulky items: $40–$75+


These are sample ranges—always check the provider’s website or app for the most accurate pricing before booking.


Prices will vary depending on the courier, distance, timing, and package size. We recommend checking the websites directly for most accurate and up-to-date pricing.  

Because you likely won’t know the buyer’s location when setting delivery costs, if a buyer reaches out before purchasing, you can ask them for their general location and edit your listing to reflect the agreed delivery cost.


Otherwise, we recommend estimating an average courier rate based on typical distances in the city—for example, between neighborhoods in Brooklyn and Manhattan—and building that into your item price.

Important Things to Keep in Mind

  • The buyer covers delivery costs – Be sure to factor this into your item’s price.
  • Coordinate directly with your buyer – Use Mindu messaging to confirm timing, drop-off details, and any delivery preferences.
  • Know your courier’s limits – Each provider has different rules for size, weight, and packaging.

Once you clicked Publish Listing on the Delivery Page, you will be taken to a summary of your listing. 


Congrats, your item sold! Send with care, just as you would to a friend.


Safety First: Always keep communication within the Mindu platform for everyone's protection.

Pro Tip: A quick message like "Your package is on its way! Here's your tracking: [number]" goes a long way in building buyer confidence.

Meetup:

  • Buyers can now see the full location or specific address you inputted.
  • Arrange meet up logistics on the Mindu platform via the messaging function. 

Shipping by Mail:

  • Pack like a pro!
    • Prepare item(s) securely and with care to ensure safe delivery.
      • Clean items thoroughly before packing—this small courtesy goes a long way!
      • Layer delicate items with bubble wrap or tissue paper.
        • For clothing bundles: Poly mailers, tissue paper
        • For toys & small gear: Bubble wrap, small/medium boxes
        • For larger items: Strong corrugated boxes, bubble wrap, packing paper
      • Reuse Tip: Reuse packaging from items you've received! Clean Amazon boxes, tissue paper, and bubble wrap can all have second lives too.
      • Fill empty spaces in boxes to prevent shifting during transit.
        • Seal packages securely with strong tape (on all seams for boxes).
        • Write "FRAGILE" clearly on packages containing breakable items
      • Extra Touch: A quick thank-you note can make the unboxing experience special for the buyer's family.
  • Ship Fast!
    • Ship your order within 3 business days of the sale.
      • If an order isn’t marked as shipped or updated within 10 days, it may be automatically canceled.
    • Mindu does not provide shipping labels, so sellers are responsible for calculating and arranging their own shipping.
      • No printer? Some couriers let you print labels in-store—just bring the QR code!
    • Save your tracking.
    • Mark the item as shipped on Mindu and share the tracking details with your buyer via the Mindu platform.
    • Issues must be handled through the courier – Mindu is not responsible for lost, delayed, or failed deliveries handled by third-party services.

Local Courier:

  • Deliver with Confidence!
    • Choose your delivery service – You can choose the delivery platform that works best for your item and location.
    • Communicate with the buyer – Double-check the delivery address and agree on a delivery window that works for both of you.
    • Prepare the package – Package the item securely, especially if it’s fragile. Be sure the package meets the courier’s size and weight requirements.
    • Schedule a pickup – Use your selected delivery app to schedule the pickup and drop-off. Most services walk you through the booking process step-by-step.
    • Share tracking details – If the courier provides a tracking link, send it to the buyer through Mindu messages so they know when to expect the delivery.
    • Confirm Delivery – Once the item is delivered, the buyer has 3 days to confirm receipt. After that, the order is marked as complete, and both you and the buyer will be prompted to leave a review!

Getting paid on Mindu is simple and secure. Here’s how it works:

  • After your item is delivered, the buyer has 3 business days to confirm receipt. Once they do, your payout is released.
  • If the buyer doesn’t confirm, your payout is automatically released 14 days after the original purchase date.
  • Funds are transferred to your connected Stripe account and typically appear within 2 to 5 business days, depending on your bank’s processing time.
  • For your first sale, Stripe may take 7 to 14 days to verify your account before releasing the payout. After that, your payouts will follow your Stripe payout schedule.

To avoid delays and ensure you get paid smoothly:

  • Set up your Stripe payout details under Account Settings > Payout Details.
  • Double-check that your bank information is accurate and verified.
  • Keep your account in good standing by shipping items on time and maintaining clear communication with buyers.
