At Mindu, we understand that sometimes a faster, more flexible delivery option is just what’s needed—whether it’s for a bulky item, a time-sensitive gift, or simply added convenience.

While Mindu doesn’t directly integrate with third-party services such as Roadie, Metrobi, or Uber Connect, many sellers use these tools manually to coordinate smooth, same-day local deliveries.

This guide walks you through how to set up and manage your own local courier delivery—from quote to drop-off—so you can create a seamless experience for both you and your buyer.

Note: The following services are for informational purposes only. Mindu is not affiliated with these companies and cannot guarantee pricing, availability, or service quality.

What is the local courier option?

Local courier is a great alternative to traditional shipping. Instead of mailing the item, you arrange a door-to-door handoff using an on-demand delivery service. It’s especially helpful for:

  • Faster delivery – Items can arrive the same day.
  • Convenience – No need to travel or wait in line at the post office.
  • Bulky or delicate items – Better suited for local hand-delivery than shipping.

Since Mindu does not handle shipping nor delivery, sellers are responsible for booking, coordinating, and ensuring successful delivery.

To add the local courier costs to your listing as an option. See our article How do I calculate local courier costs? for more information.

What if I don’t know the buyer’s location when setting delivery costs?

Great question! Since buyers can be anywhere within Brooklyn or Manhattan, you may be wondering how to estimate courier costs ahead of time.

If a buyer reaches out before purchasing, you can ask them for their general location and edit your listing to reflect the agreed delivery cost. (Need help? Check out our How to Edit a Listing article.)

Otherwise, we recommend estimating an average courier rate based on typical distances in the city—for example, between neighborhoods in Brooklyn and Manhattan—and building that into your item price.

Clear communication helps create a smooth, trusted experience for everyone involved.

What do I need to do once a buyer selects local delivery?

1. Choose your delivery service —You can choose the delivery platform that works best for your item and location.

Sellers often use:

  • Roadie
  • Metrobi
  • Uber Connect

These are just examples—you’re welcome to use any service available in your area.

2. Communicate with the buyer Double-check the delivery address and agree on a delivery window that works for both of you.

3. Prepare the package – Package the item securely, especially if it’s fragile. Be sure the package meets the courier’s size and weight requirements.

4. Schedule a pickup – Use your selected delivery app to schedule the pickup and drop-off. Most services walk you through the booking process step-by-step.

5. Share tracking details – If the courier provides a tracking link, send it to the buyer through Mindu messages so they know when to expect the delivery.

6. Confirm Delivery – Once the item is delivered, the buyer has 3 days to confirm receipt. After that, the order is marked as complete, and both you and the buyer will be prompted to leave a review!

Local courier is a great way to deliver your items quickly, without the wait or hassle of traditional shipping. Just confirm the details with your buyer and get ready for a smoother, faster experience!
